We are staying at the hotel with our 12 year old son and whilst he's a bit of a foodie we didn't think he would fully appreciate the experience. However the front of house staff made a real fuss of him and the head chefs came out to see him and promised him some surprises during the meal. We had the chefs recommended menu which was perfect, we all particularly enjoyed the guinea fowl main course, and the amuse bouche of lobster ravioli with orange and smoked duck, delicious! The recommended white wine was from central Portugal and a perfect complimented to the food. We certainly had an experience and whilst it's not something we would do every day, we will have lovely memories for a long time. Thank you to all in this fabulous restaurant.
My wife and I actually booked our holiday to Madeira, based on going to this restaurant. Having sampled 1* restaurants before, this was our first 2* Michelin meal...and it was amazing! Stunning food and flavour combinations, great staff service and a lovely view overlooking the sea. We shall return, that's a guarantee!!
