Ate here during the Beer Festival in May 2018. On offer: Pigs' tripe. Chicken stomachs. Pigs' ears with shallots and parsley. Bacalhau and chickpea salad. Tortilla. Favas with chorizo and pork. For my money the proprietor deserves 5* just for serving such a bold spread.
I tried everything, I love offal and we should all eat more it. The pigs' ears were a bit too chewy for me, but I saw plenty of locals walking away happy with bowls full of the stuff and smiling faces. Chicken parts were cooked perfectly, I would have made them spicier but this is a matter of taste. The tripes were fabulous, crispy like pork fat with a lovely liver-y finish.
The dessert was a maracuja (passion-fruit) cake, and a sweet potato and chocolate cake. Only had room for the sweet potato and chocolate, but it was sublime. Naturally sweet, spiced, with chocolate ganache and candied nuts on top. It had a.smooth, soft texture like cheesecake, not sponge. Perfection.
