Myself and my girlfiend had dinner in Maré during our stay in Olhao from Ireland, on the recommendation of your rental car rep. She mentioned that it was only newly opened by her friends but was very good. We decided to go (with a pinch of salt - friend recommendations can be biased!) and were blown away. The decor was very quirky and appealing and the service was the best we had during our stay. Our two hosts seemed genuinely delighted to have us dining and spent a lot of time explaing the menu and recommending the best dishes. Claudio(?) in particular was excellent and made for a great host.
The food was fantastic. Everything was based on shrimp in new and innovative ways. We had burger sliders with a shrimp patty which was phenomenal. I had a simple gambas and avacado starter which was the best thing I'd tasted during my stay in Olhao. Mains were fantastic as well.
I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It's always nice to see new ventures trying something different and I really hope Maré succeeds. It would be my top pick if I returned to Olhao. Food was fantastic but the top tier service and warmth from the host sets it apart.
Myself and my sister ate here last night. Service was excellent, the waiter was very informative about each and every dish on the menu. The food was incredible- the best meal I have eaten all week.

C est juste parfait. On y mange bien , pour pas cher. Le personnel est au top !!!! ( mal au cou , les personnes se reconnaîtrons ) le restaurant est très beau

What a great restaurant. It is located in a small street. As the name already tells you, everything is based on shrimps. The food is excellent and the service also. The waiter have us an explanation about the menu and all choices. My wife ordered the "shrimps in tempura" and I the"shrimps Costa" as a starter. And the shrimps lasagna as main course. Only one because my wife was not so hungry. When the order was taking we did make some jokes about, that she will take a bite of my lasagna. So when the waiter brought the lasagna, he had two plates, so we could share the lasagna! The starters and lasagna were perfect!!
So perfect that we asked for the lasagna receipt. A couple minutes later we got the ingredients handwritten on paper.

Absolutely fantastic place. Ate their last night, the food was just spectacular. The tempura prawns were the best we’ve ever tasted and the cod was amazing. Wonderful staff, warm friendly welcome. The restaurant interior is so nicely considered as well. Great colours, light, subtly themed with some great touches. A real delight to spend the evening in.
Fantastisch.... heerlijke creatieve eerlijke keuken, gezellige inrichting en erg vriendelijk personeel. Een must voor iedereen die naar Zuid-Portugal gaat.

Espaço acolhedor agradavel de se estar, o staff é muito prestável e a comida deliciosa.
Top top top. A comida é excelente acompanhada de um serviço à medida. Recomendo vivamente a experimentar
En Olhao abunda la calidad y cantidad de restaurantes..Es dificilísimo un sitio nuevo sobresalir y este lo ha logrado merecidamente ,El ambiente es agradable , acogedor , muy buen cuidado sin ser altamente sofisticado .El personal es profesional , servicial y amabilísimo , y la comida extraordinaria , platos portugueses y europeos con un juego de sabores y toque de excelencia ..Nos encanto todo desde las entradas a los postres y los vinos , decir también que aunque no tienen carta para vegetarianos confeccionaron para nuestros amigos vegas unos platos excelentes .
Adoramos já é a terceira vez e conseguimos ser surpreendidos em cada visita, a Stephanie está de Parabéns !!
Endroit très beau calme chaleureux poulpe excellent sur un nid de patate douce, coquillages et crevettes. Desset aux fraises divin . Vin au verre de très bonne qualité, service impeccable serveur aimable bref (a ne pas manquer) . Petit bémol dommage une cuillère en plastique pour le café.
Well worth the econmebdation, especially if you love prawns!
Ambiance chaleureuse, service parfait avec une ėquipe accueillante et aux petits soins, carte excellente...des produits frais et faits maison d'une grande qualité. Nous avons passé une excellente soirée dans un décor raffiné. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Um espaço de excelência que merece a visita de todos os apreciadores de marisco e não só! Os pratos confeccionados, para além da boa apresentação têm imenso sabor e qualidade nos produtos utilizados.
O espaço não é muito grande, o que torna um ambiente bastante agradável e acolhedor, tanto para casais como grupo de amigos.
O staff bastante atencioso e simpático. Recomendo sobretudo a lasanha de camarão e o xarém de camarão, ADORÁMOS... estava divinal!! Até à próxima visita...:)
