We ate lunch here today, party of 6 Americans with no reservations. Thankfully they were able to seat us and we were not disappointed. The food is all traditional Portuguese and the wine list only features domestic wines. Our server was excellent in all respects, recommending good wines and explaining the food. Portions are huge, in fact several are for two people and it is still difficult to finish despite the high quality and delicious food. The dishes are served in a Portuguese pot, I am not sure of the name, but it is the logo for the restaurant. They come to the table still bubbling. I had the monkfish and Rock Bass with tomato rice, but also tried the veal, the shrimp (which was cooked with what I can only describe as a bread risotto). The food was perfect and so was the atmosphere. My parents have been in Portugal for a week and had been very disapointed with the quality and flavor of Portuguese food. Tia Alice was by far the best meal they have eaten and restored their faith in a nation's cuisine. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
