Best food, best staff and best prices - ever!
After we tried chris's place once, we ate here every single day during our stay in madeira.
We really enjoyed every single gourmet course here. It was super excellent and we couldnt get enough.
The staff was at least as perfect as the food. From the chef to every single of the servants and to the manager - they were literally amazing- all of them! We had very good, funny and relaxing time with them at chris's place.
Eating at a michelin restaurant before, I can easily tell this place is my favourite of all restaurants ever.
we were sorry to leave madeira, because of we'll not be at chris's place anymore.
Because of these people we will definitely come back to madeira again and bring every single evening at chris's place again.
Thanks to you all, our new friends-new family, thank you for the surprise, once again, you're simply the best- see you again.

You can believe all the good reviews you have seen about this excellent restaurant. From the moment we walked in through the door we were made to feel special and our needs were top of the list. This was probably the best restaurant meal I have ever had. My husband and I are experienced diners and enjoy dining out. It's one of our hobbies. If anyone could find fault, my husband would. However, he could not. The food had been prepared by people who were not only accomplished but cooked with love. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed. Although it's an extremely popular restaurant, the management have resisted temptation to cram in more tables. There is plenty of room. The complimentary drink on arrival is a very nice touch. Although we chose the 'concept menu', which appeared to consist of three courses, what we got was much more. There were apertisers, palate cleansers, 'amuse bouche' and your glass was never allowed to be empty, with an excellent selection of wines, all included in the price. Excellent value! It's worth travelling to Madeira just to visit this restaurant!

All the food was beautifully presented.
A driver came to pick us up because we were dropped off in the wrong place by a taxi driver & then we were driven back to our hotel at the end of the evening!!!!!!
Now that is unbelievably good service.

This was a great experience, great food, fabulous wine �, good live music and very friendly staff we thoroughly enjoyed our evening (was hubby birthday) and a big thank you to the driver for picking us up and bringing us home safely. Defo recommend this place 100% �
Easily one of the best restaurants I have dined at by far (and I do fine dine quite a lot) . We went to Cris's restaurant while visiting Funchal having not made a booking prior, we were informed it was fully booked. We met Cris himself who not only secured a table for us at one of his other restaurants about 6 minutes drive from where we were but arranged a courtesy car to take us there and back to the hotel free of charge, a complimentary drink while we wait and on arrival to the restaurant. The food was just amazing - Michelin standard!!!And again the dessert which included chocolate fondant by a mile the best I have had . Fully recommend a must to try if you planning eating out in Funchal .
Outstanding food and service. The 3 course meal was exquisite and such great value for money. The wine and water kept coming. We both had the pork cheeks for our main course and the pork just fell apart at the touch of the fork. It was absolutely delicious. Will definitely return to Madeira. Will definitely return to Cris's place.
We ate at O Castico, which is under the same ownership, when we were here a couple of months ago and it was superb. When we found that Cris's Place was just around the corner from where we were staying we booked straight away. Fantastic evening. We had the 3 course menu with wine and the food and service were both outstanding. Another visit before we leave I think!
8 th Jan 2017 celebrating my 40th birthday in Madeira and my partner had booked us in to eat here as a surprise. What can i say other than WOW. From the wonderful greeting to the absolutely amazing food fantastic service and such a great ambiance this for me is the best place in Madeira (and we did eat at a lot of places whilst on our trip). The table had been set up specially for us for my birthday which I thought was a lovely thing to do. Each dish we had was served with a happy smile and my taste buds were goin nuts at such fantastic flavours. Thank you for helping make my birthday so memorable each and every one of you. This is the place to visit when in Madeira 👍
What a night the food was glorious the atmosphere excellent bit the never empty wine glass gave me a bad head. Cris's is a must on madera
Stunning meal... probably some of the best tasting food I’ve ever had! Great service too - they couldn’t be more welcoming. Already booked for the last night of our holiday - can’t wait to go and back and see what the Chef sends out on Sunday!
