I normally don't write long-winded posts but tonight I felt compelled to. For the last couple of days I'd researched many local restaurants here on Terceira for an anniversary dinner with Toni and settled on a place called the Captain's Table. OMG!! This place blew my mind. Cozy, intimate, and romantic with maybe a dozen or so tables and jazz music gently playing in the background. We would have simply been satisfied with the meal itself which was prepared to near perfection but the manager Ricardo turned this meal into an experience we will never forget. He went out of his way to make us feel more like guests in his home than patrons in a restaurant and it seemed that he enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed his. We almost felt guilty when we told him we needed the check because it was time to go. I truly cannot compare this to any restaurant experience I have ever had. On a scale of 1 to 5 I would give the Captain's Table 6 Stars.

Had dinner tonight, it was excellent. The catch of the day fish was out of this world! The selection of cheese was superb. The house wine was a good match to the meal. Cannot wait for another dinner of lamb chops next Tuesday. Service is perfect. Cozy place for a good meal in Angra do Heroismo!
