The best meal we had in Alvor. The best meal we've had whilst in Portugal. Unbelievable quality and taste. The cost is so low its outstanding for the amount of good quality perfectly cooked food. Will go back to Alvor just for this restaurant �

I have been to The Chicken Tavern quite a lot, it's a great restaurant always good food & wine and plenty of it. I always take friends and family who come to Alvor to visit me. We've never been disappointed. Graet value for money. I warn you don't order too much you'll only have to take home a doggy bag.
We visited on the first night. The food was excellent - we had chicken satay as a starter. Succulent chicken and delicious sauce. The mains ranged from humongous ribs, chicken and pineapple and chicken, chourico and mushroom kebabs. All cooked to perfection and served with home made chips and oven roasted vegetables. Different and delicious. Well worth a visit!
Loved it the first, second, third and forth time and we were only in Portugal for a week! Great place, staff and excellent food.

Just called in without any prior knowledge or recommendation. Glad we did, had an excellent meal, really good service and surprisingly inexpensive. Definitely going back. Chicken and monkfish kebabs were delicious.
